The Voigtlander 90mm F3.5 APO-Lanthar SL II is a compact, all-metal manual-focus lens with excellent build quality and smooth focusing. Optically, it delivers bitingly sharp images wide open with good center sharpness, though corners soften slightly and pincushion distortion is present. Longitudinal chromatic aberrations are decently corrected but sometimes visible, and flare resistance is poor. It offers close focus to 1:3.5 and includes a dedicated close-up lens. Best suited for photographers who prioritize optical quality and manual handling over speed, and who shoot static subjects like landscapes or food.
