The Voigtlander Nokton 17.5mm f/0.95 is a manual focus Micro Four Thirds lens offering an extremely fast f/0.95 aperture for subject isolation and low-light performance. Optically, it is surprisingly sharp wide open and blisteringly sharp stopped down, with beautiful bokeh and tonality. However, it suffers from purple fringing, longitudinal chromatic aberration at wide apertures, and severe field curvature at infinity. Build quality is exceptional, with all-metal construction and smooth mechanics. It lacks electronic communication, requiring stop-down metering and manual focus. Best suited for photographers who enjoy manual focus, environmental portraiture, and shooting in low light.
