Overview

The Viltrox AF 28mm F4.5 VCM is an ultra-thin pancake lens with fixed f/4.5 aperture and autofocus-only operation, lacking manual focus and aperture control. Optically, it delivers surprisingly sharp center resolution but soft corners and heavy vignetting (2.4-2.9 EV) with a blue color cast in corners. Flare resistance is poor. Build is plastic with a metal mount and a sliding lens cap, but no filter thread or hood. Autofocus is decent in good light but struggles in low light. It suits budget-conscious photographers wanting a discreet, point-and-shoot experience on full-frame or APS-C cameras.
