The Venus Laowa 9mm F5.6 FF RL is the world’s widest rectilinear full-frame lens, offering a 135° angle of view. Optically, it delivers impressive sharpness across the frame, though it exhibits some distortion and vignetting. Build quality is excellent with an all-metal construction, smooth focus ring, and a compact, lightweight design. The lens lacks electronic contacts and has a bulbous front element without a filter thread, but a 100mm filter holder is available. It is best suited for landscape, architecture, and creative wide-angle photographers who prioritize extreme field of view and are comfortable with manual focus.
