Overview

The Sony FE 24-70mm F4 OSS is a compact, lightweight standard zoom (430g) with Zeiss optics and OSS, offering about 2-3 stops of stabilization. Optically, it shows significant barrel distortion at 24mm (~3.8%) and pincushion at 70mm, though JPEG auto-correction hides it. Center sharpness is good but corners are soft, especially at wide apertures. Build quality is solid with a metal barrel and weather sealing, but the fly-by-wire focus ring is poorly damped and prone to accidental movement. It suits travel and general photography where size and OSS matter, but not demanding landscape or critical sharpness work.
