Overview

The Sony E 16mm f/2.8 pancake lens is extremely compact and lightweight (2.3 oz, 0.8" long, per KenRockwell), making it ideal for portable travel setups. However, optical performance is a major compromise: center sharpness is decent for a pancake, but corners are very soft, especially at wider apertures. It is resistant to flare but lacks image stabilization.
