The Sony E 10-20mm F4 PZ G is a compact, lightweight ultra-wide zoom for APS-C, optimized for hybrid photo/video use with power zoom (PZ). Optically, it delivers good center sharpness but softer corners at 10mm wide-open, improving by f/5.6. RAW images show heavy barrel distortion (6.5% at 10mm) and vignetting (up to 3 EV), but auto-correction reduces these to negligible levels. Chromatic aberration and flare are well controlled. Build quality is solid with dust/moisture resistance, internal zoom, and smooth power zoom operation, though the focus and zoom rings are easy to confuse. Autofocus is fast, silent, and reliable. It lacks OSS, making it less ideal for low-light handheld video. Best suited for travel, landscape, and vloggers who prioritize size and video features over maximum optical correction.
