The Sony FE 28mm F2 is a compact, lightweight (200g) and affordable ($448) wide-angle prime for full-frame E-mount. Optically, it offers good center sharpness but relies on in-camera correction for distortion (3.7% barrel) and vignetting (2.9EV at f/2). Bokeh is smooth at close distances but can be nervous at longer ranges. Build uses metal and plastic; the lens hood is flimsy. Autofocus is fast and quiet, but manual focus-by-wire has lag.
