Overview

The Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8 DG DN is a compact, lightweight standard zoom for full-frame mirrorless, weighing 470g and using 67mm filters. Optically, it delivers excellent center resolution at 28mm f/2.8, but edge performance is decent; however, the Tamron 28-75mm G2 shows higher maximum results. Weaknesses include heavy RAW distortion (~3.5% barrel at 28mm) and high vignetting (2.1-2.8 EV at f/2.8). Build quality is good with TSC plastic and metal mount, but weather sealing is only at the mount. It suits those prioritizing a compact, affordable f/2.8 zoom over wider coverage.
