Overview

The Sigma 120-300mm F2.8 EX DG HSM offers excellent center sharpness, especially stopped down to f/4-f/8 (OpticalLimits), and a constant f/2.8 aperture across the zoom range. However, it exhibits focus breathing, reducing effective focal length at close distances. Build quality is solid with weather sealing, but the lens is very heavy at 6.5 lbs and nearly requires a tripod or monopod. It suits sports and wildlife photographers who need a fast telephoto zoom and can manage its weight.
