The Samsung D-Xenon 50-200mm f/4-5.6 ED is a budget telephoto zoom for Pentax KAF2 mount cameras, nearly identical to the Pentax 50-200mm. Optically, it delivers excellent sharpness across the zoom range, with SQF results in the Excellent range and well-controlled distortion (Imperceptible barrel at 50mm, slight pincushion at longer focal lengths). Build quality is mixed: a metal mount but polycarbonate barrel, with a fluid zoom ring and somewhat noisy autofocus. It lacks image stabilization. Best suited for budget-conscious users seeking good optical performance in a lightweight, compact design, though long-term durability of the plastic body is a concern.
