Overview

The Samsung NX 45mm F1.8 is a compact, lightweight prime lens (115-120g) with metal construction and smooth manual focus, though the iFn button and 2D/3D switch are easily pressed accidentally. Optically, it delivers sharp images from f/1.8, with very good center sharpness by f/5.6 and decent midframe performance. Bokeh is smooth and pleasing. Weaknesses include soft corners wide open, slight barrel distortion (-0.5%), and minor chromatic aberration. Autofocus is fast and silent in good light.
