The Samsung NX 45mm F1.8 2D/3D is a compact, well-built prime lens with metal construction and smooth handling. Optically, it delivers very good sharpness from f/2.8, with excellent center sharpness wide open and pleasing bokeh. Chromatic aberration and vignetting are well controlled, though distortion is noticeable in RAW but corrected in JPEG. Autofocus is fast and quiet. The 3D functionality is a unique but niche feature, with limited practical value for stills. It suits street and portrait photographers seeking a compact, sharp prime, but the 67mm equivalent focal length may not suit everyone.
