    The Pentax smc FA 50mm F1.4 is a compact, lightweight (220g) film-era prime with plastic build and an aperture ring. Optically, it shows softness and low contrast at f/1.4, with heavy vignetting; sharpness improves markedly by f/2.8 and peaks at f/5.6. Chromatic aberrations are noticeable. It lacks weather sealing and QuickShift, but offers fast screw-drive AF.
