Overview

The Pentax 16-85mm F3.5-5.6 WR offers very good build quality with weather sealing and smooth controls. Optically, it delivers outstanding center sharpness at 16mm and 35mm, with edges improving to excellent when stopped down; at 85mm, sharpness is excellent in the center and very good at edges. Chromatic aberrations are well controlled. Autofocus is reasonably quick but not the fastest. It suits Pentax APS-C users seeking a versatile, weather-resistant standard zoom with strong optical performance, though the AF speed may not satisfy action shooters.
