45–200mm · f/4–5.6
The Panasonic 45-200mm F4-5.6 II is a compact telephoto zoom for Micro Four Thirds, offering a 90-400mm equivalent range. Optically, it delivers very good center sharpness at wide apertures, peaking at f/8, but edge sharpness lags and color fringing is noticeable at 200mm. Build quality uses high-grade plastics with a metal mount; the zoom ring is smooth with no creep, and the manual focus ring is well-damped. The Power OIS provides about three stops of stabilization. Autofocus is reasonably quick in good light but struggles with tracking. It suits budget-conscious users needing reach for sports or wildlife, but those prioritizing edge-to-edge sharpness may look elsewhere.
