The Olympus M.Zuiko 17mm F1.8 is a high-speed prime lens for Micro Four Thirds, offering a 35mm equivalent field of view. Optically, it delivers very good center sharpness wide open and good borders, but relies heavily on software correction for distortion (~4.5% uncorrected) and has noticeable vignetting at f/1.8. Build quality is excellent with an all-metal body and smooth manual focus clutch, though it lacks weather sealing and the hood is optional and expensive. Autofocus is fast, silent, and accurate. It suits street and everyday photography, especially for those who love the 35mm field of view.
