The Leica Summarit-M 90mm f/2.5 offers superb optical performance, with sharpness, rich colors, and nice bokeh. It is optically identical to the 90mm Elmarit and APO Summicron. However, build quality is inferior to other Leica lenses: the focus ring is rubber and can feel gritty, and the font is less elegant. It lacks a built-in hood and has a plain cloth pouch. Focusing wide open is challenging due to thin depth of field. It suits budget-conscious Leica users who buy new and prioritize optics over mechanical refinement.
