Overview

The Leica Super-APO-Summicron-SL 21mm F2 ASPH is an ultra-wide-angle lens with excellent central sharpness from f/2 and effective chromatic aberration correction. However, it likely has strong distortion requiring software correction, which may degrade sharpness. Build quality is superb with weather sealing and a metal hood, but the lens is heavy at 789g and lacks physical controls, requiring menu navigation for AF/MF. It suits landscape, architecture, and photojournalism, but the high price demands exceptional performance.
