Overview

The Canon TS-E 45mm f/2.8, introduced in 1991, offers tilt (±8°) and shift (±11mm) but lacks independent rotation, limiting adjustment combinations. Optically, it delivers excellent sharpness across the frame at f/2.8, with outstanding sharpness when stopped to f/5.6 or beyond, even when shifted. Chromatic aberrations are very well controlled. Build quality is solid with metal and high-quality plastics, though the tilt/shift knobs are small and fiddly. Manual focusing is smooth and precise. It suits architectural and creative photographers on a budget, offering good value used.
