The Canon EF 16-35mm F2.8L II USM is a professional-grade ultra-wide zoom with solid build and weather sealing (requires front filter for full seal). It offers fast, silent autofocus and good center sharpness wide open, but corners are soft, especially at f/8 and edges fall off. It is relatively compact and light for its class, but 82mm filters are expensive. Best suited for astrophotography and action shooters needing f/2.8, though newer alternatives offer better corner performance.
