Overview

The Canon EF 14mm f/2.8L II USM is a rectilinear ultra-wide lens offering a 114° field of view. Optically, it delivers very good image quality with low distortion, outperforming the Nikon 14mm in this regard. However, it is not as sharp as the manual Pergear 14mm f/2.8 and shows some inconsistencies in autofocus during testing. Build quality is excellent with weather sealing and a metal hood, but the convex front element prevents filter use. It suits photographers needing a compact, fast ultra-wide for full-frame Canon DSLRs, though modern RF zooms are optically superior.
