Overview

The Nikon Nikkor 24mm f/2 AI/AI-S is a compact, all-metal manual-focus lens built to last. Optically, it offers good center sharpness wide open but suffers from soft corners, low contrast, and a dreamy veil at f/2 that clears by f/2.8. Flare and ghosting can be problematic. It performs best on DX or when stopped down to f/8 for sharp corners. Its smooth focus and fast aperture suit low-light and street photography, but it's not ideal for moving subjects or demanding corner sharpness.
