Overview

The Minolta AF 70-210mm f/4.5-5.6 II is a solid, all-metal telephoto zoom with smooth internal zooming and a rubberized grip for cold-weather use. Optically, it delivers good sharpness even wide open, with pleasant bokeh and nice colors/contrast, though backlighting can cause blooming. Its main weakness is the flimsy hood attachment. It suits photographers who appreciate a tank-like build and a less clinical rendering, especially on APS-C where it becomes a 105-315mm equivalent.
