    Overview

    The Nikon Fisheye-Nikkor 8mm f/2.8 is a circular fisheye lens producing a 23.2mm diameter image circle on FX/film, with a 180° field of view in all directions. Optically, center sharpness and contrast are excellent even wide open, but corner performance requires stopping down to at least f/8. The lens is solidly built with an internal turret of five filters, but it is large and heavy (38.1 oz/1,081g), and the protruding front element is vulnerable to damage.
