    Overview

    The Minolta AF 35mm f/2 (RS) is a well-built, all-metal lens (except plastic outer barrel on later versions) with smooth focus and fast autofocus. Optically, it offers low distortion and bright aperture, but field curvature and lack of distance encoder are noted (QuietOC). It performs similarly to the MD 35mm f/1.8 but worse than the Samyang 35mm f/2.8 (QuietOC). Suitable for full-frame and APS-C, it works on modern Sony cameras with some limitations. Ideal for users seeking a compact, affordable wide-angle prime with classic build.
