Overview

The ISCO-Göttingen Super-Kiptar 85mm f/2 is a vintage thorium lens designed by Charles G. Wynne for CRT/X-ray use in mass TB screening, later adapted for industrial applications. Optically, it is based on a Petzval design, but later iterations improved upon it. Build quality is typical of old projection lenses, though heat damage is common and difficult to repair, leading many to discard them. The lens suits experimental photographers interested in historical optics, but its age and fragility make it impractical for general use.
