    Overview

The Nikon AF Nikkor 75-300mm f/4.5-5.6 is a full-frame push-pull zoom from 1989, built with metal and quality plastics for excellent durability. Optically, it delivers very good resolution at 75mm and 200mm, but at 300mm it is soft until stopped down to f/11. Chromatic aberrations and distortions are well controlled. The lens lacks VR and has slow autofocus, but a focus limiter helps. The non-removable tripod collar is poorly implemented. It suits budget-conscious photographers who can work around its limitations.
