24mm · f/2.8
The Sigma AF 24mm f/2.8 Super-Wide II is an affordable, solidly built prime lens with a very short minimum focus distance (0.18m) enabling 1:4 macro-like close-ups. Optically, it produces nice images but lags behind modern lenses in sharpness, microcontrast, and flare control. On full-frame, corners are softer with more vignetting compared to the Nikon 24mm f/2.8D. The clip-on hood is insecure and prevents cap use. It suits budget-conscious shooters who value close-focus capability and don't require ultimate optical performance.
