Overview

The Super-Lentar 28mm f/2.8 is a compact, all-metal M42 lens with a distinctive silver-and-black finish. Optically, it delivers decent sharpness even wide open, but bokeh is busy and the aperture blades create spiky, non-circular openings at f/5.6, causing odd-shaped shadows in backlit shots. Close-up performance is limited by a 1.5-foot minimum focus distance. Build includes a convenient A/M toggle for aperture, though the focusing ring is initially stiff. It is a budget-friendly alternative to Super Takumar, best suited for casual shooters who value unique aesthetics and don't mind optical quirks.
