    The Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 35mm f/3.5 is a compact, all-metal M42 lens with excellent build quality and smooth controls. Optically, it is sharp in the center but shows corner vignetting on film, while on digital it becomes sharper with less vignetting, though some character is lost. Its Tessar-type design with a bulbous front element is notable but limits close focus to 0.45m. The A/M switch can be accidentally moved. It suits photographers seeking a versatile, affordable vintage wide-angle for street or everyday use, especially on film.
