Overview

The MC Cosinon-W 28mm f/2, also known as the Petri MC 28mm f/2, is a compact, well-built lens (49mm filter) that delivers very good contrast and color, with popping images straight out of camera. Wide open, it shows softness from spherical aberration but retains good detail; stopping to f/2.8 largely eliminates softness, yielding high resolution and contrast. At f/5.6, center resolution is very high, though corner performance was not tested. It suits photographers who value compactness, vivid colors, and good bokeh, and who can work around slight wide-open softness.
