    The Nikon Micro Nikkor 55mm f/2.8 AI-S is a manual-focus macro lens renowned for exceptional sharpness across apertures and distances, with diffraction limiting by f/5.6 in the center. It offers excellent contrast, minimal chromatic aberration, and virtually no distortion. Build quality is high. Weaknesses include only 1:2 magnification (requires PK-13 for 1:1) and some corner softness wide open on full-frame.
