Overview

The Carl Zeiss Jena Prakticar 200mm f/2.8 MC is a heavy (over 1 kg) telephoto lens with a 2m minimum focus distance. Optically, it is exceptionally sharp at wide apertures with beautiful bokeh and great colors. Its telephoto design reduced size and weight compared to the earlier Olympia-Sonnar. The lens hood is too short, and the focusing ring can be stiff. It suits photographers who value sharpness and bokeh and can manage its weight and close-focus limitations.
