    Overview

The Petri 135mm f/3.5 MC is a compact telephoto lens with a 4-element, 3-group Sonnar-type design, originally made by Kyoei for Petri's first SLR. Optically, it delivers excellent sharpness wide open, lovely bokeh, and good contrast. However, it is prone to flare, especially in backlit situations. Build quality is typical of its era, with a distinctive two-ring aperture mechanism and close focus of 1.5m. Later K-mount versions may be Cosina-made and can suffer from focusing lubrication issues. It suits vintage lens enthusiasts seeking a sharp, compact 135mm with character, but not for flare-prone conditions.
