The 7Artisans 28mm f/1.4 is an all-metal, solidly built M-mount lens with smooth focus but heavy resistance and an aperture ring with uneven stop spacing. Optically, it suffers from significant softness and uneven sharpness wide open, with hazy transition zones and noticeable chromatic aberration. Vignetting is present but not severe. The lens is large and heavy (488g), causing viewfinder blockage and front-heavy balance on M bodies. It offers user-adjustable rangefinder coupling. Best suited for Leica shooters who value the fast aperture and character for black-and-white or film work, but not for those seeking critical sharpness.
