Overview

The Takumar 135mm f/3.5 is a well-built all-metal lens with smooth focus and a compact, heavy feel. Optically, it is sharp at near-to-medium distances, especially stopped down to f/5.6–f/8, but soft at infinity and prone to corner chromatic aberrations and flare. Its f/3.5 maximum aperture limits low-light use, but it produces smooth bokeh and 6-bladed sunstars when stopped down. It suits photographers seeking a classic telephoto character on mirrorless cameras with IBIS, or those comfortable with manual operation.
