50mm · f/3.5
The FED Industar-10 50mm f/3.5 is a Soviet Tessar-type lens closely resembling the Leica Elmar design. It is solidly built with metal construction and smooth rings. Optically, it delivers sharp center performance with good contrast, but suffers from severe flaring, vignetting, and very soft corners on full-frame. On APS-C, the crop eliminates most vignetting and corner softness, leaving only flaring. It is a slow lens (f/3.5) and may require proper adjustment for optimal focus. Best suited for APS-C shooters seeking a compact, characterful lens at a low cost, or those willing to accept its flaws on full-frame.
