The Makinon 28mm f/2.8 MC is a solidly built, compact M42 lens with metal construction and a comfortable feel. Optically, it suffers from strong vignetting, softness wide open, and corners that never fully sharpen. However, it offers pleasant bokeh, minimal chromatic aberration, and a close 25–30cm minimum focus. Best suited for vintage enthusiasts who enjoy working around its limitations; not recommended for beginners or pixel peepers.
