80mm · f/2.8
The Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar 80mm f/2.8 is a medium-format lens originally for the Exakta 66, later adapted to Exakta mount for 35mm use (thejournæy). Optically, it delivers wonderful portrait results with smooth contrast and resolution, though specific weaknesses are not noted. Build quality is solid, with a helicoid that can be adjusted for infinity focus on other mounts via temporary adapters. Handling is improved after refurbishing, but the Exakta mount is personally disliked by the reviewer. It suits portrait photographers willing to adapt vintage medium-format glass.
