Overview

The Computar 8mm f/0.8 CS is a wide-angle lens designed for smaller sensors, but on Micro 4/3 it suffers from severe vignetting unless crop mode is used, which negates its wide field of view. Its optical strengths include sharpness at fast apertures, but corners are soft and vignetting is an issue. Build-wise, it protrudes dangerously close to the sensor, risking damage to the mechanical shutter. It suits users who prioritize speed and sharpness in the center and are willing to accept vignetting and handling risks, but wider c-mount lenses are generally advised against.
