50mm · f/2
The Minolta MD Rokkor-X 50mm f/2 is a compact, lightweight lens with solid metal and plastic build, though some find it slightly plasticky. Optically, it offers excellent center sharpness from f/2.8 to f/8, with corners improving by f/5.6-8. Lateral chromatic aberration is well controlled, and barrel distortion is negligible. Weaknesses include low contrast in corners at f/2, visible axial CA at fast apertures, and flare when shooting into the sun. Bokeh is average. It suits landscape and general photography on a budget, especially on mirrorless cameras.
