The Chinar 28mm f/2.8 is a compact, lightweight manual-focus lens with a metal build and smooth focus ring. Optical performance is soft at f/2.8, sharpens by f/4, with f/8 as the sweet spot. Corners remain soft at all apertures, contrast is low, and color rendition is cool with low saturation. Flare is well controlled, and bokeh is acceptable at wider apertures but busy stopped down.
