135mm · f/4
The Jupiter-11 135mm f/4 M39 SLR is a cheap Soviet copy of the Zeiss Sonnar, but sample variation is high. Optically, it offers decent center sharpness wide open, improving slightly at f/5.6, though corners are dark and resolution never matches modern lenses. Its main weakness is severe veiling flare, even on overcast days, which a hood helps but doesn't eliminate. Build is all-metal with smooth aperture ring (no clicks) but uneven focus resistance; it's lightweight but scratches easily. Best suited for budget-conscious shooters who can tolerate flare and use a hood.
