Overview

The LOMO OKS1-50-6 50mm f/2.0 is a Soviet cinema prime with high sharpness and contrast from wide open, good color, and low purple fringing. It covers APS-C well; on full frame, corners vignette slightly and bokeh can be swirly. Build is crude: focus mechanism resembles a light bulb screw, and the lens can pop out of its barrel at close focus. It requires an OCT-18 adapter; without a straight-key adapter, focusing is tricky and the optical unit may detach. Ghosting is relatively easy to induce. Suits mirrorless users seeking a characterful, sharp vintage look, especially on APS-C.
