Overview

The Sigma MF 14mm f/3.5 is an ultra-wide lens with very low linear distortion, keeping straight lines straight. Optically, it is sharp from f/4.5 and excellent at f/8, but edges are soft wide open and diffraction degrades sharpness at f/22. Build is solid but heavy at over a pound; the exposed front element requires careful handling and shading to avoid flare. Autofocus is fast but noisy, and the lens cap can slip off. It suits photographers needing a compact, affordable ultra-wide for landscapes or architecture, especially on crop sensors where edge distortion is cropped out.
