Overview

The Konica Hexanon AR 135mm f/2.5 is Konica's fastest 135mm lens, offering good sharpness and high contrast with excellent color fidelity and no visible distortion. However, it is not as razor-sharp as slower Konica 135mm lenses and is very sensitive to flare, with an inadequate built-in hood; an accessory hood is recommended. It is bulkier and heavier than slower counterparts, with a 62mm filter thread. The lens is well-suited for portraits due to its shallow depth-of-field and bright viewfinder, but it is less common and more expensive than slower 135mm lenses, though still reasonably priced. In comparisons, it renders similarly to the Takumar 135mm f/2.5, though some prefer the Takumar.
