    Overview

    The Nikon Nikkor 800mm f/8 IF ED is a super-telephoto lens with ED glass and multicoating for high contrast and sharpness. At 3.3 kg, it is relatively lightweight but prone to vibrations and wind buffeting. Optical quality is excellent at close to moderate distances, especially near wide open, but distant shots suffer from haze. It offers both automatic and manual diaphragms, a built-in hood, and tripod collar. Best suited for dedicated tripod use by advanced photographers needing extreme reach.
