Overview

The Canon TV 50mm f/0.95, the original f/0.95 fullframe lens from 1961, offers unique optical character. Wide open, it produces a dreamy, glowy look with subtle sharpness, good contrast, and minimal purple fringing. Stopped down, it sharpens significantly. However, it suffers from low contrast and softness if the copy is not pristine. Build is all-metal, heavy at ~600g, with a 180° focus throw. It requires modification for M-mount use. Best suited for photographers seeking artistic, vintage rendering and willing to accept its quirks.
