Overview

The Bower 24mm f/1.4 (also sold as Rokinon/Samyang) is a manual-focus wide-angle lens prized for astrophotography and low-light work. Optically, it delivers excellent sharpness, especially in the center, with pleasing background blur. However, corner sharpness can be poor, and sample variation (decentering, tilted elements) is a known issue. Build quality is plasticky and inconsistent. It suits budget-conscious photographers who prioritize optical performance and manual focus for landscape, astro, or video, but not fast-action shooting.
